Aaron - 10 months old

Weight - 8 kg

Aaron had not put on weight in a month, although he eats a lot. So Doctor Uncle Kevin suggested that we switch his formula to Pediasure. With a week of drinking Pediasure, Aaron put on half a kg!


Aside from the weight issue, he seems to be developing extremely well, especially in terms of his gross motor skills. And he's started to climb!

Mother's Day 2012

Mummy was away during Mother's Day, and only returned home late on Monday night, day after Mother's Day. Nadine came home from school on Tuesday and exclaimed to Mummy, "Mummy, I have something for you!" She then pulled out a card and hand-made flower for Mummy. So sweet!

Credit goes to her teachers in LSK for helping her to make these, especially since Nadine missed school on the Friday and Monday before and after Mother's Day (sick on Monday and on Friday, Daddy had an early morning meeting and couldn't send Nadine to school, therefore gave her a day off).

Nadine is full of imagination. Today, she decided that she'd build a house, using 2 chairs and Mummy's sarong sling.

And she filled her house with a pillow, books, cups, Aaron's stuffed taxi, and Doctor Evil Pork Chop.

Daddy and Mummy are really proud of her sense of imagination. Not only does that mean we save money by not having to buy her lots of toys, it also means Nadine can think out of the box and is good at improvising. We hope this wonderful trait will help her to excel in life!

Zia's pirate-themed birthday party

Zia celebrated his 4th birthday with an amazing pirate-themed birthday party last Saturday. He has an amazing father who would go to great lengths to organize the most elaborate parties for his children.

The party started with pool games for the fathers and kids. They had to look for marbles and rings in the pool, fathers had to be blindfolded before going round to look for their kids, and ...

the finale - the fathers had to blow up a huge float and row to the other side of the pool with their kids.

Siblings

Nadine and Aaron can be really loving siblings ... most of the time. Aaron breaks into a smile whenever he sees his sister, and loves to watch her play. Nadine is possessive of her little brother, loves to make him laugh, and always tries and comfort him when he cries. Of course, there are times when she'll hit him or bite him out of the blue, or when he'll pull her hair. But there are definitely more sweet and loving moments .... for now at least.

Here's a photo of them sharing an apple. Nadine was eating the apple and Aaron screamed for it. Nadine generously offered it to him. Certainly hope they'll grow up to be siblings who will love, care and share with each other!

The 5th disease

Last week, after 4 days of fever, Aaron developed a severe rash all over his face and body. But aside from the rash, he was perfectly alright. No more fever, rash didn't seem itchy, and Aaron was back to his active self.

He had the "5th disease", a viral illness which is also known as "slapped disease" because in most cases, the virus would produce a distinctive red rash on the face to make the child look like his cheeks have been slapped. The rash spread from face to trunk to the limbs. But it went away as soon as it came. Within 3 days, the rash cleared up completely.

With Aaron, we're learning so much more about illnesses and viruses! Sigh .... not a good thing at all!

Aaron - 9 months old

In 5 days' time, Aaron will be 9 months old. Aside from being really good at standing up now, since last week, he's also started to walk by himself, while holding on to tables, people, and whatever he can grab for support. He's still very unsteady, but he's one determined fellow, all out to explore the world and move about independently.

Weight: 7.5 kg

Despite not drinking much milk in the last 3 weeks. Don't know why. He just wasn't interested in milk. But loves his cereal and porridge.

Height: about 69 cm

Aaron's first teeth

Aaron's 3 lower front teeth and 2 upper front teeth have been growing fast and furious this week. And there seem to be more coming out. No more gummy smile.
