Day 4 in Osaka - SCMaglev an Railway Park, Nagoya

Day 4, we took the Shinkansen to Nagoya. Initially, all we wanted was to let the kids experience the bullet train. The nearest station from Osaka is Kyoto - 15 min, which we thought was too short a ride. So we went for the next stop - Nagoya. And Daddy found out that there's a a railway museum in Nagoya. Worked well for our plan.

The SCMaglev and Railway Park is a very impressive museum on the railway history and development in Japan. There are models of past and present rolling stocks ...

an amazing diorama of the Japanese railway ....

Shinkansen and conventional train driving simulators, explanation about the  railway system and the superconductor maglev system ...

and a play room for kids.

Of course, Aaron enjoyed it a lot more than Nadine.

The best thing about the museum is that it has extremely good English translations of all the explanations. Made the experience so much better because we could understand the railway system better, and could also answer the kids' questions. Definitely a worthwhile trip!
