Ma-Ma

Nadine's Ma-Ma loves her dearly. Nadine is Ma-Ma's 1st grand-daughter, after 3 grandsons. She calls Nadine her "bao bei"- precious. Every weekend, when she comes home, she'll wait for Nadine to wake up so that she can play with Nadine. And she can carry Nadine for hours, play with her for hours, and watch her for hours. And while she dotes on Nadine, Ma-Ma never interferes with Daddy and Mummy when Nadine needs to be disciplined, although Daddy and Mummy can see how pained Ma-Ma is when Nadine is scolded or left to cry in her bed!

Daddy Feed

Daddy fed Nadine cereal for the first time 3 weeks ago .... forced by Mummy. The same weekend, Mummy forced Daddy to change Nadine's diapers, something he's not done for months. Kekekeke ......

Nadine is 7 months old! This photo was taken on 11 August, the day she turned 7. Photo wasn't well-taken. But Mummy loves the photo, both Daddy and Nadine look so happy together.

Nadine's a happy baby. She wakes up with a smile most of the time. Of course, there are off days.

Her achievement so far (mostly achieved in her 6th month):

- sits stably

- pulls herself to a sitting position when holding someone's hands

- bears her weight on her legs

- enjoys being "walked"

- hold her milk bottle herself

- can do the "pincher" (finger-thumb grasp)

- crawls backward

- 2 lower front teeth have popped out

- face lights up when she sees people whom she is familiar with: Daddy, Mummy, Bibi, Grandparents

- identifies Daddy with sleep (Daddy's shoulders are the best pillow)

- identifies Mummy with play, and milk, of course

Nadine's growing so fast. Too fast!

One day in the, hopefully far rather than near future, if Nadine ends up marrying Josh, Mummy and Aunty Lydia will have so many lovely photos to show for their "growing up together" powerpoint prezo! 

Food Glorious Food!

Nadine loves her food, just like her Daddy.

Daddy has allergies, therefore Mummy has been trying different types of food on Nadine very slowly. So far, she's had brown rice cereal, carrot, pumpkin, porridge, carrot porridge, fish porridge, broccoli and pork porridge, in that order. She likes them all! Yes, even broccoli. Good girl!

Mummy had read somewhere before that a bb tend to like to eat whatever her Mum liked to eat when she was pregnant. Mummy had consciously eaten a good variety of food when she was pregnant. So maybe that's why Nadine's such a good eater too!  :-)

Sentosa

Nadine went on her first trip to Sentosa last Saturday.

It was Daddy and Mummy's cell bonding. And the cell chose to go to the very ulu Tanjong Beach. It had less people, more dogs, and generally more space and privacy.

Nadine must have been really hungry by the time Mummy fed her her cereal. She sat quietly on Daddy's lap and ate as quickly as Mummy could feed her, totally ignoring the rest of the cell who were looking at her messy, creamy face.

She was carried most of the time. Mummy didn't want to let her hands and feet touch the sand, coz she puts them into her mouth all the time. Maybe by the next beach outing, Nadine will be walking. Then it should be safe for her to roll around in the sand.

Mei-mei Ilyssa

Mummy's last day of maternity leave was last Thursday.  :-( 

Mummy brought Nadine to visit Mei-mei Ilyssa, who is 2 months younger than Nadine. Nadine doesn't know how to play with another baby yet. But certainly enjoyed the new toys she got to play at the Lims.

Little red spots

Nadine was super cranky last nite. Refused to sleep, and woke up several times during the nite crying. She also felt warmer than usual, tho she didn't have a high temperature. Mummy thot she could be cutting her 1st tooth, therefore the discomfort and crankiness.

This morning, Mummy found Nadine covered with rashes all over her body! Heat rash? Eczema? Measles? Viral infection? Panic, panic. Off to the good Uncle Dr Kevin we went.

Uncle Dr Kevin diagnosed it as a viral infection, and suspected that Nadine had already fought off the virus, without getting a fever. The rashes usually come after the fever and should only stay for 2-3 days.

Relief. But will have to monitor Nadine for any fever or other development over the next few days.

This is Nadine's first "illness". So far, in the last 6 months, she's been super healthy, and had even withstood 2 bouts of flu from Daddy and Mummy. Strong girl!

Playgroup at Aunty Mae's

Actually, it wasn't much of a group. Only Stella and Nadine. And actually, they don't really know how to play with each other yet. They're still very much in their own world.But it was good for Nadine to play with some new toys without Mummy having to incur any cost. And even better for Mummy and Aunty Mae to catch up and exchange tips on raising girls!
