On Hari Raya Puasa, day before National Day, we went to the Bird Park with a big group of friends - friends who were all stuck in Singapore for the long weekend.
I was looking through the blog to find out when was the previous time we went to the Bird Park, and to my surprise, it was National Day last year! Annual National Day pilgrimage ... sort of!
The kids were happy to be out with their friends, though it seems the boys were more excited than the girls, and played with each other a lot more than the girls did. For example, they were a lot more enthusiastic about taking a photo together than the girls!
We watched the "Birds of Prey" and "High Flier" shows - both of which were really informative and entertaining. But Nadine was more focused on getting to the water playground. Kept asking for it. So were the other kids. So much so that we decided to go to the water playground before going round to see the birds.
The kids loved it at the water playground. Running wild, kicking and splashing water, and going down the slides umpteenth times.
After satisfying the older kids' demand, it was time to satisfy Aaron's demand - to take the tram. It was such a nice, leisurely drive, that by the time we finished the ride, we were more ready to nap than to walk round the park! And since Nadine and Aaron had been to the park before, we were perfectly ok with heading home.
