Nadine is 8!

Nadine turned 8 more than a month ago. This year, she decided that she wanted to invite her classmates to celebrate her birthday with her. But I limited it to 10 classmates, because I didn't think I could handle any more girls. In any case, Nadine herself only wanted to invite the classmates whom she's closer to. Phew!

She lovingly wrote out the name tags for each of the goodie bag.

We had a pizza-making workshop party at Pasta Mania Nex. It was interesting to see the girls whom Nadine spends time with every day. Most of them were cheeky and rowdy, like Nadine - no wonder they're close to her! There were also a few who were more reserved, and those, I assume are a bit more sociable in school.

While waiting for the other friends to come, the girls who were early, and Aaron, had fun drawing on the blackboard - a foreign concept to them.

The birthday girl gets to ring the bell to start the workshop.

The girls were first given a history lesson of pizza ...

before making their own pizza. They were taught how to knead the dough ...

And flatten the dough ...

put the pasta sauce ...

and cheese and ingredients. Each pizza is numbered, so that they'd know whose pizza it is after baking. And they get to eat their own creation after that.

And the most exciting time of the party - opening the presents. 1st party I've been where the friends were so eager for the birthday girl to open their presents! And so cute to see the girls wooing and waaing about all the presents.

So glad to see that Nadine has such lovely friends in school, on top of the close friends in church. I pray that she will always have wonderful, loving, reliable and trustworthy friends to journey with her in the many adventures she's going to take in her life ahead!
