Aaron turns 6

This post is exactly 1 month late.

Aaron turned 6 one month ago. But this year, we didn't hold a birthday party for him. We forfeited it because he was disobedient. About what, I can't remember now. Nonetheless, we took time off from work to celebrate with him.

This is the last year that he celebrated his birthday in LSK. I think he'll miss having his principal, teachers and friends sing him the birthday song, and perform a special clap for him.

21 July is also Racial Harmony Day in Singapore. So he's never the only person in "special clothes" on his birthday. But in previous years, he'd never wanted to wear Chinese costume. Surprisingly this year, he actually wanted!

Daddy and Mummy took leave to celebrate with him. We let him choose the restaurant for lunch, and he picked Japanese, so that he could eat his favourite fish roe sushi. He also tried salmon sashimi for the first time, and he liked it!

After lunch and after picking up Nadine, we went to watch Spiderman and Jie-Jie Joelle. There was not enough action in that movie for Aaron, and he grew bored very quickly, and then actually fell asleep!

What perked him up after the movie was the present from Yi-Ma and Jie-Jie Joelle - a Super Heroes Lego set! He was so so happy and excited! This was his 3rd of Lego for his birthday - Daddy and Mummy had already bought him a set of Lego each from Legoland.

Back home, Jie-Jie baked him a double-layered cake! It tasted way way better than it looked!

I'm happy that my little boy did not whine about having his birthday party forfeited, and knew that he shouldn't ask for more presents than what we had already promised. He's sometimes really compliant and sweet. But he can be a stubborn mule too. I just pray that he'll learn to be compliant, sweet and stubborn about all the right things and at the right time!
