S.E.A. Aquarium

On Vesak Day, we went on a major outing with our friends to RWS - with 11 adults and 13 children.

The grand plan was to go to Adventure Cove, for the kids to play, run around, and tire out, while some parents take turns to chase the kids, and drink ice cold beer; and then, go for a good dimsum lunch. The rain busted this grand plan, and we had to settle for plan b - S.E.A. Aquarium.

Unfortunately, that was plan b for tonnes of people who had either wanted to go to Adventure Cove too, or to Universal Studios. So the Aquarium was super-jammed. We had to queue for 2 hours to get in. Good thing we could entertain the kids with food and games/video show at the Zhenghe exhibition. The parents caught up with one another while queuing - and Daddy recalled last year church camp speaker advising us to "waste time" with our friends to build strong friendships. There, we did it.

I was surprised when Nadine asked me to take a photo of her with these 2 mannequins. I'd thought she'd be scared.

Thank God we did not queue in vain. The aquarium was really nice. Huge, with lots of different fishes, and the kids loved it.

Nadine took my phone and snapped away, capturing quite a few good photos of the fishes.

And we attempted to take group shots of the kids. Here's one with half the group of kids.

And a more successful one, without Luanne and Nadine.

And amazingly, we managed to get the 3 youngest kids to sit together for a pic too! This great photo was taken by Aunty Lydia with her va-va-voom camera

The long queue made us so hungry that, instead of our yummy dimsum lunch, we had to settle for an extremely expensive hot dog lunch. We bought $109 of hot dogs and sandwiches! Here's us, enjoying our air-con picnic.

By the time we got out of the aquarium, we were so tired, and everywhere was still so crowded that we decided to go home, instead of finding proper food. And our conclusion - next time, on a public holiday, we should just do what we usually do for CNY - lunch at someone's else, pool-time for the kids, and then dry swimming for the adults, followed by a good dinner.
