Church camp 2015

This year's church camp was held at Sunway Putra Hotel in KL. We had Elders Retreat before that, so spent a total of 8 days at the hotel.

During Elders Retreat, the kids went swimming and played in the room during the day, and followed us out for dinner at night. The only time we got to bring them out to play was on the first day of church camp, before the 1st message that night.

We went to Kidzania, and the kids had a blast.

They started by going to the "bank" to get money. No adults were allowed to accompany the children into any of the establishments. In fact, they had signs that say "Every adult must be accompanied by a child"!!!

Kids excited with their kidzos

Their first vocation - police

Then Nadine tried her hands at being a telecommunications engineer

They even went out to repair some network!

And the kids' favourite station - firemen and firewomen going out on a mission!

Then while Nadine and the 2 Gan boys went to make jewellery, Aaron went to flying school! I was so surprised that he dared to go into the Air Asia station all by himself. So brave!

And finally, the hospital. But by the time the kids got there, Kidzania was about to close. So they only had time to train as paediatric nurses.

What a wonderful, educational place. And great idea not to allow parents into the establishments! Let the kids explore, learn and experience on their own! Love it.

I was relieved once the camp proper started. Because it meant the kids will be meaningfully engaged. And as with previous years, kids attending the children program will always put up a lovely performance on the last day of camp - something that all the proud parents look forward to.
