For our year-end holiday this year, we decided to go to South Korea, to experience winter and snow! The kids were so excited about it, and 1 month leading up to the holiday, Nadine kept asking if we were leaving for snow tomorrow.
After months of planning and anticipation, we finally landed in Seoul on 9 Dec, after a pretty ok 7-hour flight. The weather was cold but nice and bearable .... until after dinner.
Since we were a sizeable group of 10, we decided to hire our own tour guide, with a mini bus. That was a really good decision, coz we got to have a local bring us around, could jump in and out of the bus whenever we wanted, and could tailor our program accordingly. And we had a very good guide, Lucy, who did not just bring us to the usual tourist attractions, but gave very good recommendations that kept the kids entertained, and the adults happy!
This was our first bulgogi dinner in Seoul.
After dinner, we went to Myeongdong, which is near the service apartment we booked, for some shopping. But it was drizzling. So it was cold and wet. A washed-out of a shopping experience, and we did not stay long. Went to our apartment, Han Suite, to chill out and prepare for the next morning's travel to the ski resort instead.
