Korea - Dec 2013: Vivaldi Park Ski Resort

On Day 2, we travelled 1 hour out of Seoul to Vivaldi Park Ski Resort. On the way, Lucy, our tour guide, brought us to a shop to rent ski suits. We had to rent so many things - jacket, pants, goggles, snow boots; and had to purchase gloves. And the shop didn't take credit card! So that wiped out a huge portion of cash that we brought! Ya, we thought - it's Korea, of course they took credit cards everywhere! So didn't bring too much cash.

Here's the group, after 1 hour of "shopping" at the ski rental shop.

A family shot at the hotel reception .... where hardly any of the receptionists could speak English.

After checking in, we immediately headed out to the ski area to play with snow. But the area that we went to did not have a lot of "fresh" snow. Nonetheless, it was the kids' first snow experience, and they were all really excited.

Daddy and Nadine, with new hats bought from Myeongdong. Daddy loved his Russian hat, which provided excellent protection for his head and ears from the cold wintery wind.

Starfish Nadine ... she talked repeatedly about doing a starfish in the snow months before the trip

After an hour, we decided to head back to the hotel for dinner. The kids didn't want to leave, but we had no choice, as we had to catch the last gondola. Otherwise, we'd had to roll ourselves downhill to go back to the hotel!
