Our first proper full day in Taipei, we went to the Taipei Children's Amusement Park. It's nothing close to Disneyland nor Universal Studios, not in size nor number of rides. But had enough things to keep the kids entertained. And the entrance fee was only NT$30 for adults and NT$15 for children - that's about S$1.20 and $0.60 respectively!
It was a super warm and sunny day - totally not winter.
The catch to the cheap entrance fee - all the rides were charged separately. We had to rent train tickets similar to our EZlink cards, to pay for each ride. But it was still really cheap. Each ride was just NT$20 or 30.
Nadine, Aaron and Ethan took 1 ride on the Crazy Bus (while Gerald and Marcus went to do more grown up rides) and ran around in the playground for a bit, and were beaten by the scorching sun. Had to seek refuge in the indoor play area - played coin-operated rides arcade games.

We were there indoor for quite a long time before proceeding for lunch. Gave in to the kids' overwhelming request for Burger King - the worst burgers we've ever had. And we learnt from Yi-Ma later that Taiwan's Burger King is really lousy.
After lunch, we went to take the ferries wheel. The view was quite magnificent, with the cityscape against the blue sky, white fluffy clouds and mountains.
An attempt at taking a family photo with a reluctant Aaron on the ferris wheel
After the ferris wheel and a ride on the Wave Swinger for Auntie Wendy, Marcus, Ethan and Nadine, it's time for some sweet treats - for both children and adults.
Another failed family photo attempt
The park is next to Yi-Ma's house. We went there after the park to rest up before heading out for dinner at Din Tai Fung. Super yummy!
After dinner, we went to Shilin Night Market, where it was super crowded. But we still managed to see and eat some interesting stuff, before heading back to rest.
