Taiwan 2015 Day 4 - 新竹

From 苗栗 "The Mountain Town", we went to 新竹 "The Windy City". And we arrived on a day when it was super cold, windy and a little rainy too.

Undeterred, we went to Leofoo Village, 六福村, a safari, theme park and water park all rolled into one. The water park was closed as it was winter. And due to the strong winds, some rides at the theme park were closed too. The kids tried whatever other rides that were in operation.

They enjoyed this Sahara Twister so much that they went on it a few times.

The happy kids, who were not as bothered by the cold wind as the adults

Nadine wanted to go on this ride and Daddy was not around, so I had to go with her. The thing hangs you upside down! And Nadine enjoyed it so much that she went on it again a second time with Gerald!

Meanwhile, Daddy walked around with Aaron on the rented stroller, looking for rides suitable for Aaron ...

And found none, except for the Bird Flight that they had already taken twice. So Gong Gong KK, Daddy, Aaron and I decided to go on the Safari bus, leaving Aunty Wendy to brave the cold wind with the boys and their rides.

The bus provided a nice and warm shelter from the cold wind. But being Singaporeans, spoilt by our world-class Singapore Zoo, we were not very amused by the few animals species. And actually, they didn't look very healthy too.

By 4pm, we were done. Headed back to our hotel in Hsinchu City - Hotel Royal - the only hotel we stayed in during our entire trip in Taipei.

I booked the double-double room for the Gans and us. Each room has 2 king-sized beds and a huge bathroom with a bathtub and a shower cubicle.

Nadine questioned me, "this is the nicest hotel, why are we staying for just 1 night?"

That night, we went to Big City shopping mall and found one of the Japanese restaurants that we had targeted to eat while in Taiwan - Saboten. But somehow, it didn't taste as good as the last time we ate 2 years ago.

Big City had the usual big shopping mall stores - Sogo, Mango, Gap, Espirit, etc. Didn't really interest us, or perhaps we were too tired. All the kids got some toys, and Nadine made a play doh cake box. And then we headed back to enjoy our nice big hotel room.
