Taiwan 2015 - Dinner in Taipei

The one thing that Daddy and I always look forward to in Taiwan is the food. Not the street food, but the inexpensive restaurant food. The ingredients are super fresh and the cooking is just amazing.

Our last 2 nights in Taipei, Yi-Ma brought us to 2 restaurants that were close to our apartment. One was 胡同燒肉 that has not just yummilicious food, but excellent service as well.

Didn't take too many photos because we were all too busy eating. Even Nadine ate the beef! She loved it! It was so juicy and tender.

Aaron loved the food too, but halfway, he started wailing, and complaining that his tooth was painful. He was almost hysterical. So Daddy had to bring him back to the apartment first. We brought him to the dentist the next day, and turned out he had a very bad decay, and the dentist told us to seek immediate treatment when we get back to Singapore! Poor little fellow!

Back to food - the 3rd dinner Yi-Ma brought us to was a claypot restaurant, where most of the key dishes were cooked in claypots at our table. Didn't take note of the restaurant name, but despite having a booking, we had to wait for about 20 min before we were seated. And there were people who waited for a good 2 hours!

The food was indeed very very delicious. But what we couldn't understand was - there are so many good restaurants in Taipei, why do people still queue so patiently for so long for any particular restaurants?

Both meals cost us - 7 adults and 5 kids - just over $200. We would probably have to pay at least double the price for this quality in Singapore!
